I am a very competitive person. It shows in how I carry myself as an athlete, and how I am when coaching others. I want the best from myself, and I always want to be pushing for more. Being an athlete has made me who I am.
+ Bio
Passionate, intense, driven
Originally from Hampstead, MD (the same little 4,000 person town as Katie Zaferes), I went to the Virginia Military Institute for college. At the end of my freshman year, a friend of mine convinced me to try and walk-on to VMI’s D1 swim team. Sophomore year I walked on and swam for 2 seasons before recurring shoulder injuries took me out of the sport. Spring of my junior year, 2018, I joined VMI’s club triathlon team and was hooked. I enjoyed racing and the coaches were the best I’ve had in any sport.
Fast forward to 2020 and I started taking the sport more seriously, 14 months later I quali?ed for 70.3 World Championships and just 3 months after that I broke the Ironman MD bike course record.
I have a lot left to work on, but I’m just enjoying pushing my limits all the time.
